Can Mario Kart Teach Us About Sustainability?

Most everyone has played Mario Kart at least once in their lifetime, whether it was as princess peach in Luigi's Mansion, or facing the difficult Rainbow road. One of the well known aspects of the game is when you fall off the side of rainbow road, the game places you back in the race. This allows for slip ups and mistakes to not totally destroy players chances of finishing the race. Andrew Bell, an assistant professor from Boston university states in his paper that the principles of Mario Kart can be applied to create more equitable systems and programs. Bell researches Farming communities and plans to use some aspects of Mario Kart to help these vulnerable communities. He can give these groups a metaphorical golden mushroom in the form of these programs to help give them a boost! How cool. Read more about it below!
